Job Summary

The responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate design courses, including Senior Capstone Design; conduct and publishing major research on the fundamental challenges in mechanical components and systems design.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess an earned Doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline by the time of employment. Preference will be given to candidates who earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to develop an active research program including securing externally funded project, a passion for teaching, and an interest and ability in directing graduate and undergraduate students in research and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community. Special consideration will be given to candidates with demonstrated efforts in pursuing external funding and to candidates whose research has strong orientation toward the potential for collaboration across campus and the region.
