Job Summary

Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a passion for teaching. The candidate will be expected to teach in the areas of industrial motion control (fluid power and mechatronics) and related courses. The candidate will have the opportunity to design a new teaching lab for motion and control. Expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics and electromechanical technology would be invaluable.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Appointment as Assistant Professor of Practice requires 10 year of professional experience. Expectation to demonstrate a passion for teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the Minimum Qualifications, preference will be given to candidates with superior communication skills, demonstrated teaching experience, experience in laboratory-based teaching and/or with industry experience, and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community. Candidates with a doctoral degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related field will be given special consideration.
